Next time you are on Craiglist get your pocketbook ready; not to buy anything, but to donate! Panhandling has officially gone viral here in Columbus.

But, it is not just money people are asking for. How about lending five minutes for a prayer, a free meal, or clothes. The best thing is that it is working!

Recently a family in Columbus posted their needs online. In return they got groceries, toiletries, jewelry, and cold-hard cash! No more worrying if the beggar is a bum…you will never see them!

COTA wants more riders and more money for less service. Normal activity for a company that never makes a profit. Now, the “mass transit” operation wants to cut a park and ride stop; riders are not having it!

One of the busiest suburban bus stops, Northwest Blvd. and Zollinger Rd., may not be around much longer. A new Giant Eagle store could get rid of the stop and the parking spaces.

COTA may not even have a say in the matter since they do not personally own all of their stops. That is right, they lease or have other arrangements with many stops located at churches, stores, or shopping centers.

It is time for Columbus to get a real transportation system and quit pretending that COTA really services their purpose!

Don't question the president, or you'll get locked out... lookin' in. Sounds very "You're with us, or you're against us" - Bush-like in fact only there's noone saying anything this time

Stalin’s, er we mean, Obama’s Chief of Staff actually went on NATIONAL television (state run television we guess) to “explain” the communist dictator, er we mean, United States President’s view on why they won’t do interviews with or generally participate with members of Fox News.

Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel explained that “It’s not so much a conflict with Fox News. I suppose the way to look at it (note the “you should look at it this way, too” tone) and the way that they president looks at it and the way we look at it, is: it’s not a news organization so much as it is a prespective. And that’s a different take.”

To steal a line from SNL’s weekend update… “Really?”

Apparently, those who don’t play ball, don’t get invited to the game…. remember when “change was comin’ to Washington” – apparently, that change is that ONLY democrats matter and the populace thinking that a lot of “right wingers” are dictating – i.e. lower taxes, lesser spending and NO nationalized healthcare are simply NOT what President Lenin, sorry, again, we meant President Obama, has in mind.

Please note that he also said: “more importantly it’s not to have the CNN’s and the others in the world be lead into following Fox.”

WOW! Are you shitting us Rahm? REALLY?

Newsweek did an article on Barack’s win of the Nobel Peace Prize (a joke by itself, but… it gets better), they had this tag at the end of the article:
For a refresh on the early accomplishments that put Barack Obama on the Nobel committee’s radar, check out our coverage of his life, his ideas, his big day, his disciples, and his fans around the world.

Finally a politician in Ohio who cares about tax-payer dollars!

A State Representative is finally putting their foot down…but of course they are not from Columbus. Rep. Jarrod Martin, is taking a stand against roadway signs, glorifying the stimulus spending.

The Representative from Beavercreek is even stating the obvious….they are a waste of money! But, he is not stopping there and here at WTF we want to say thank you. A thank you that is well deserved but should not be necessary becasue more people should just do their jobs!

Martin has introduced legislation that would stop the signs from being posted on future projects; something ODOT reps just do not understand. They claim it is their way of being transparent. To them, WTF says, give us a break!

This time his "life on the street" story may have some "cred" in office board rooms!

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is now adding author to his resume. Really, not that surprising since he has had his hands in almost every other form of self-publicity…a movie, Vitamin Water, and of course shootings.

The real shocker? His collaborator on “The 5oth Law,” Robert Greene. A very successful author who published “The 48 Laws of Power” in 2000.

But, just because a successful author is helping “50″ doesn’t mean his usual rants about life on the streets will disappear. I am sure everyone will once again here all about how many times he has been shot. But, at least it is better than a drunken Kanye stomping all over Ms. Swift. I guess in the hip-hop world you will take whatever you can get!

For Westerville, history is too much to handle even when it might teach some lessons.

The truth is too much for Westerville residents to handle; especially when it involves slavery.

The city has axed a “slave trade” from their Underground Railroad reenactment tonight. People complained saying the city is making a mockery out of the situation.

Get over it people; there are different colors of people living around you. If you cannot talk about it and learn from past mistakes without offending anyone there will always be racial tension in the U.S. and especially in Westerville!

They are the lawmakers in Columbus not the tax-payers!

Today marks the day that Columbus will improve safety, open more recreation centers, and begin curbside Rumpke pick-up again. Oh, wait those have all been put on hold while a committee hashes out the details!

Today is October 1st and for more than 700,000 of you that means paying higher Columbus income taxes. This applies to everyone working in Columbus…except state reps, senators, and those who work for them!

Apparently even though they are benefiting from the police service, fire service, road repairs, etc. their taxes go back to their hometowns.

Mad? You can thank a 42-year-old state law for that and try writing your congressman or senator or even Strickland or hey maybe Coleman; our guess is it will go unanswered.

The best part, Columbus is in the minority with a taxing system like this. Go figure, right? Maybe a committee can be put together to figure out if it would bring money to Columbus and then another committee can decided where the money should go, and then we should make huge signs declaring where the money came from, and….

The colors of communism can be seen high in the sky in NYC. Think this is a joke, right? Unfortunately not entirely!

While typically donned in colors representative to upcoming holiday’s the Empire State Building’s choice of red and yellow are causing quite a stir. The lighting is in honor of China’s 60th Anniversary as a country.

While being open minded and accepting is great, when do you draw the line? First it was a “communist Czar” in the Obama administration now a lit tribute to a country who ignores freedom of choice. Keep your eyes open, WalMart greeters may become the new U.S. mascots!

In addition to pouring boat loads of annual cash into the doors of Experience Columbus, the company promised not to build a hotel (money for the other hotel developers), nor build large-scale meeting space (”thank you” says the Columbus Convention Center and “cha-ching” think the hotel peeps)!

Paul Astleford, chief executive for Experience Columbus, told the Dispatch,”This could be a lot of money” that’s offered to other cities and not Columbus if Columbus doesn’t get on board. “Columbus could get left in the dust.”

Roll the dice boys… roll the dice.

Just think what this could do for Mayor Coleman’s streetcar plans – people will need some form of transportation after they lose their car payments at the craps table.
