The Buckeye Institute uncovered today a police report indicating that the City’s three-day old Finance Chief, Paul R. Rakosky is just nine months removed from the Franklin County Correctional Center.

The report said that when police officers arrived on the scene, they found the future finance chief “doubled over, swaying and staring at the ground,” on the OSU campus last October.

The officers reported that Rakosky was “unsteady on his feet, had red blood-shot eyes, slurred speech, was confused and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage…” In addition, he “had dirty stains on his pants as if he had fallen several times…” from uhm, dirt?

Long story short, Rakosky reportedly became “uncooperative,” informed officers that he was Deputy Finance and Management Director for the City of Columbus and told them to “take me to jail.”

However, the fun was just starting. When police processed him for release to his girlfriend, Deputy Fife… er, Deputy Director Rakosky refused to “stand up for the removal of the handcuffs,” and threatened officers with legal action.

And on to the Franklin County Correctional Center he went.

Rakosky was charged and plead guilty to one count of disorderly conduct while intoxicated, a minor misdemeanor. According to records, Rakosky paid just $74 dollars in fines; a $124 dollar cash deposit for bond was paid by Deborah Klie, Columbus City Treasurer and rumored girlfriend.
