Raising Taxes and Reaping from the Benefits

Today is October 1st and for more than 700,000 of you that means paying higher Columbus income taxes. This applies to everyone working in Columbus…except state reps, senators, and those who work for them!
Apparently even though they are benefiting from the police service, fire service, road repairs, etc. their taxes go back to their hometowns.
Mad? You can thank a 42-year-old state law for that and try writing your congressman or senator or even Strickland or hey maybe Coleman; our guess is it will go unanswered.
The best part, Columbus is in the minority with a taxing system like this. Go figure, right? Maybe a committee can be put together to figure out if it would bring money to Columbus and then another committee can decided where the money should go, and then we should make huge signs declaring where the money came from, and….
