COTA: Cutting Ohio Transit Advantages
Oct 31st, 2009 | By SHEporter | Category: LEAD STORIESCOTA wants more riders and more money for less service. Normal activity for a company that never makes a profit. Now, the “mass transit” operation wants to cut a park and ride stop; riders are not having it!
One of the busiest suburban bus stops, Northwest Blvd. and Zollinger Rd., may not be around much longer. A new Giant Eagle store could get rid of the stop and the parking spaces.
COTA may not even have a say in the matter since they do not personally own all of their stops. That is right, they lease or have other arrangements with many stops located at churches, stores, or shopping centers.
It is time for Columbus to get a real transportation system and quit pretending that COTA really services their purpose!
